Cardiovascular Care and COVID-19: What You Should Know

Though the COVID-19 pandemic has begun to show some signs of letting up, we aren’t out of the woods yet: Many states still have stay-at-home orders in place, people are still sick, and a second wave of infection remains an unfortunate possibility.

Since the very start of this strange, scary situation, your providers at Lakewood Cardiovascular Consultants have been working hard to make sure you and all of our patients (and their families) remain safe, yet well cared for.

If you’ve been wondering about your cardiovascular care and whether you should continue seeing your doctor during the coronavirus outbreak, you’ve come to the right place. Here, Dr. Erick Calderon, your board-certified cardiologist at Lakewood Cardiovascular Consultants, explains everything you need to know.

Is it safe to see my doctor during the COVID-19 pandemic?

The answer to this question depends heavily on many factors. While we ensure that our facilities at Lakewood Cardiovascular Consultants are squeaky clean, you may wish to stay home for optimal safety. Consider staying home whenever possible if any of the following apply to you:

If you must come to the office for your visit (i.e., it’s something that can’t be dealt with via a televisit), and none of the above apply to you, it’s safe to visit our Bradenton, Florida office

What services are available during the COVID-19 pandemic?

Like most, if not all, businesses and health care practices, we at Lakewood Cardiovascular Consultants have had to pivot during the novel coronavirus pandemic. This means that not all of our usual services may be available at any given time.

While we are still seeing patients for both preventative care, follow-ups, minor procedures, and surgeries, we strongly encourage you to call our office at 941-404-7958 to ask any questions you have about your usual course of care.

The commitment of your Lakewood Cardiovascular providers

It is, and always has been, our utmost priority to provide you with the safest, most effective cardiovascular care. We promise to uphold that commitment even as the novel coronavirus pandemic persists.
